Ah Chew Dessert

Date Out on a Saturday

19:59

Hello everyone!
How was your Saturday going? I hope everyone enjoyed your weekends.
For me and Mr. Roar, we decided to take a break from all the studies and all the stress.

So we decided to go CHINATOWN!

There were TOO MANY PEOPLE! - tourist, locals, students walking around Chinatown to feel the Chinese New Year spirit. SO CROWDED till the extend that I dont have the hands to rise up to take a photo!! OH NO! Furthermore, the weather yesterday was sooooooo BAD!

We wanted to have a good lunch in Chinatown, but it is too crowded till Mr. Roar can't take it. So we decided to go to the nearest place to eat. --- Lau Pa Sat (Telok Ayer Market)

Telok Ayer Market, also known as 老巴刹 to all Singaporeans, is a historic building in Singapore, and is located in Downtown Core within the Central Area, Singapore's central business district. It is currently a food centre. There are lots of awesome local food here in this market - Yong Tau Foo, Noodles, Zi Char and etc. From what I remember, Lau Pa Sat used to have this SUPER AWESOME SATAY!! But it is only opened at night, so we had to take whatever was opened at the moment.

This is the new look of Lau Pa Sat:

Did you spot something that you used to enjoy before the Lau Pa Sat renovation?
This place even have bells ringing idk, maybe every 15 mins? It made me feel like I am in Church! haha..

And to follow the trend, they even have cakes!!

Looks super tempting..!!

And we had these: TADA!

SUGAR CANE JUICE is a MUST if you are eating local hawker food.

HAO JIAN - It has a combination of Oyster and Egg fried with Starch. With the chilli sauce, it is super good. But this small bit of it cost $5 though. But yes, it is nice.

My personal favourite - BBQ Stingray!
Sadly, Mr. Roar asked for lesser chilli which ended up made me stare at him for super long. This BBQ Stingray only taste good with LOTS.. AND.. LOTS of SAMBA CHILLI!

Kang Kong also known as 马来风光
I personally think that the chef didnt cook it well. It taste okay, but it is a little too hard at the stem area. Oh wells.

But nevertheless, we had a SUPER GOOD LUNCH.. This lunch cost the both of us about $30 or maybe slightly more. But during weekend, this place is windy, not crowded and also there are lots of table! It is quiet too. We sat there for like almost an hour chatting about anything under the sun before we head back off to other places.

On the way back to Chinatown (we walked back), we managed to see something super interesting.

The back of the building with LOTS and LOTS of aircon. Mr. Roar even joked that the left side is tendered by someone who has not gone for National Service (NS), and the right side is tendered by someone who has attended NS. HAHAHA. We instantly break into laughter.

After Chinatown trip, we decided to go Bugis, because I heard that there was a sales for all sports shoes in Bugis +. So, we decided to go there and take a look. But sadly, the price is still so high for those shoes like Nike and Adidas. So we decided to go off for a dessert because we have walked TOO MUCH in the morning. So we decided to go for a rest at our favourite dessert place.

AH CHEW DESSERTS!
There is always a queue outside because there is ALWAYS Full house..

Of course, we managed to get our table.
And I had Mango Sago with Pomelo with Vanilla Icecream!  My Usual & Mr. Roar decided to have mango sago instead.
Dont ask me why I like this, I just love it.. LOL

Us while waiting for our table...

For those who love Ah Chews, they put a sign out here..
THEY HAVE AN MOBILE WEBSITE! This is what I am calling, following the trend man.. This makes more customers love coming to this place!

After our stay in Ah Chew, we decided to go somewhere else. Everywhere is FILLED with people on a Saturday. So we decided to go to IMM to shop for my sports shoes.

They are currently having a super good offer for all sports shoes, guys or girls.
I bought an Adidas ones, at 84 plus. Original price at 140+. I will take a photo and show you people soon.
Mr. Roar bought his at $39. Original price at $80+..
Super good deal right? YES IKR!

And after our shopping, we went to Timberland because Mr. Roar wanted a Cargo Pants for super long. And yes, they are having GREAT SALES TOO!! I love CNY!

Anyway, IMM is a factory outlet, so the price is usually cheaper than outside. So if you are looking for clothes, jeans, branded bags, you can go IMM for factory price.

We ended up had Ichiban Sushi for dinner.

Sushi are mine. We had more than that.. but i didnt continue to take photos because the rest is quite normal. But those 2 above:
Cheese Delight and Bacon are the special ones and yet taste super good. The Cheese Delight melts in your mouth and Bacon is newly fried and place on top with mayonnaise. It taste SUPERB.

Mr Roar's - He always love set meal so he can be full after that.

In the end, the waitress recommended us to take this:
Brownie Icecream. I can say it is super nice. But I would really prefer the icecream to be above the brownie so that the taste is mixed together, Hot and Cold. With it being separated, we had to manually do it, which isnt very practical. But we still enjoyed our dinner there.

I would specially want to recommend Ichiban Sushi at IMM because their service is really good, esp a waitress name Lina. I think she really served with passion and she is really kind to make any recommendation. I dont see lots of waitress or waiter doing this lately anymore. Will definitely go back.

Selfie before I say GOOD BYE!

Anyway, both Mr. Roar and I enjoyed the day super much because we had lots of laughter and joy. We enjoyed each other's accompany. We even walked from Jurong East back to Lakeside. HAHA!

Hope that you enjoyed yourself too.

My dearest girl's wink!

Happy Sunday~

Cheers
